Taken by Robert Frank (November 9, 1924) – Robert worked as a fashion photographer in the U.S. in 1947 until he turned to the street and photojournalism between 1950 an 1959. He became the most famous after traveling the country through The Guggenheim Fellowship and created his work called “The Americans”. The captured authentic moments of everyday American’s all around the country. This image captures such a distinct moment of a community gathering on The Fourth of July in Jay, New York in 1954. Taken by Erica Wilson – I took this photo in the spring of 2020 on the street of the small town of Progreso, Mexico. I feel like it speaks so clearly to the color, history and quaintness that fills that town and it’s people. The rest of the town looked this way and had so much culture which I feel like photo captures well.
